Nature is very special to Nancy and Elwin Hart. The couple, who live in a Village Green cottage, see all types of wildlife about 30 feet away in the nearby “Froggy Bottom” pond.
“I enjoy all the birds, frogs, ducks, and other interesting creatures who call this habitat home,” said Nancy, a former history and English teacher. Nancy grew up in Coulee Dam,Washington and migrated west to Federal Way where she and her first husband raised their children. Moving into Village Green seven years ago provided the independence and activities they wanted in a beautiful natural setting. Nancy has been active on the Village Green Resident Council and appreciates the ability to be fully involved in activities or take a break from them if family or health situations arise.
Elwin, a retired Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps, enjoys baseball, revising his 2011 memoir, making people laugh, and life with Nancy. The couple donated a gazebo to Froggy Bottom Pond so others could sit and enjoy the wildlife or gather with friends for conversation and good times. “I like people and we have great people here,” said Elwin.
